Both sides agree that absentee ballots are the safest in these unprecedented times, but this bill creates another hurdle that disabled and immunocompromised folks have to go through. (5/5)
Georgia's Mail-in Absentee Ballot Form Ban & its Ableism:
On Wednesday, GA's legislature voted to ban elected officials from mailing ballots to constituents. This discourages voting from home. Always, but especially now, voting in-person is a privilege for disabled folks. (1/5)
This bill wouldn’t prevent people from getting absentee ballots, but they will no longer show up in the mailbox – they’d be sent by personal request, by downloading the request form and sending it to the office of their officials, or go to the to-be-created website. (4/5)
The Commonwealth asked for the maximum of each charge, even with the plea agreement. Matthew’s mental health was not taken into consideration. Please sign this petition so that Matthew’s case can be reviewed and he can hopefully be freed:

Matthew did take a plea deal, however he did not understand the severity of the plea and thought that taking the deal meant he would be coming home. In November, Matthew was sentenced to 50 yrs with 40yrs suspended.
