Kaya di ko gets why people were pushing for Cap1 to get Lamina.
Lams is great, but Jaja Maraguinot is great too. She was even a Palarong Pambansa Best Setter. With Pepito as their Libero, Jaja will have a good time setting up plays for her spikers.
Dapat talaga maayos ng NU ang transition play nila.
Lamang talaga ng La Salle sa transition. Bilis nakaka position attackers ng La Salle.

Sometimes this community forgets Korra at the end of the was 16 years old going through all this.
This is exactly why reducing that moment to bad writing or "nerfing Korra" misses the point. What happens to Korra during Harmonic Convergence isn’t just a power shift, it’s symbolic of having a core part of your identity forcibly taken from you. The Avatar connection isn’t just strength, it’s continuity, guidance, and a sense of self tied to something bigger.
Losing that is less "she got weaker" and more "she was stripped of a fundamental part of who she is." That’s why the aftermath matters so much, because her journey becomes about rebuilding herself without that inherited foundation.
You can dislike the choice, but framing it as just a mechanical downgrade ignores the emotional and thematic weight behind it.
The Avatar State just evolved with the Avatar series. In Aang’s era, it felt terrifying because he couldn’t control it, it was a last resort defense mechanism tied to survival. By Korra’s time, it’s something she learns to access and control earlier, so of course it’s used more intentionally. That’s more progression than downgrade.
Also calling it a glorified power-up is such an ignorant take how often Korra loses, struggles, or gets countered even with the Avatar State. Amon neutralizes bending entirely, Unalaq matches her with Vaatu, Zaheer literally breaks her physically and mentally, and Kuvira pushes her even in the finale. If anything, the show deconstructs the idea that the Avatar State is an automatic win button.
And since korra controls it more tension shifts from ‘can she survive?’ to ‘can she make the right decisions?’ Thats what make me appreciate the storytelling more.
