We're taking a break this week to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday, but had a great time last week with our annual "Lego Communication Exercise!". Teams were tasked with replicating a hidden, virtual Lego model using only sketching and verbal communication...pretty impressive!
It's October, so we can finally say we are kicking off our 2022 program year THIS MONTH! If you haven't already, be sure to register before this year's registration deadline on October 8.
This is also the last week for @ArtPrize , so go out and enjoy the amazing art!
This year's cohort is filling up quickly, so secure your spot at https://t.co/NbVtOBVAfH! Registrations will close at the end of the month, so feel free to contact us with questions.
TODAY IS THE DAY! We will be competing for the national grand prize as part of the 2021 CIRT competition against teams from Greater Milwaukee and Southern Nevada. Anyone interested in watching the West Michigan team present can do so virtually at https://t.co/W3TQs3X7zO.
LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER!
Only registered attendees will receive the link, so be sure to do so before the window closes: https://t.co/nlo69fENq4
See you tonight!
We're having WAY too much fun experimenting with @Mozilla Hubs software! This social VR space is great for collaborating with our distanced group. We look forward to exploring more possibilities as we progress toward the final design for our homeless shelter! #VirtualReality
The snip below is a capture from our now-virtual Lego Communication exercise! In this exercise, students are asked to replicate a totally obscured prototype model (shown on the right in the image) with a kit of parts, using only verbal communication and sketching.
@ACEMentor
After a relaxing break, the ACE West Michigan is ready to resume our virtual curriculum tonight with the help of our local partner @steelcase. We will focus on inclusive design, as we work toward our proposal for the 2021 CIRT Competition: a homeless shelter in Grand Rapids, MI!
In addition to our program introduction, students were asked to create the tallest tower possible, using maximum 15 sheets of paper, scissors, and tape. Our tallest tower topped out just north of 60"!
