i’ve seen heeseung on stage so many times now but today was the one time i barely took any fancams because i just wanted to soak in the moment and watch him. i’m really glad i did.

can i just say… this might be the happiest and most carefree i’ve ever seen him. you could feel how genuinely happy he was and i can tell a huge part of that was seeing SOOOO many EVERs show up for him today.

online hate will always just be noise. today was a reminder that his real life is filled with many cheering him on and supporting him every step of the way. i love you evan.. my singer forever TT

after watching some reactions to evan’s music, i’ve had some realizations, and one of them is that heeseung never wanted to play the “safe” card. if he wanted to do that, he would simply use a kpop-ish song as the main single, not an alt pop rock song, because he knows what type of sound that kpop fans typically would accept.

but he chose the “wild” path, the one that’s going to stir up more controversy and face more criticisms. that alone says a lot. he doesn’t want to be defined or constrained to a certain “genre” or “public image”, in all of the convos about what music he likes/wants to make, he says “i want to try more different styles” “i listen to all kinds of music”. So this single is basically him telling everyone: i’m going to be myself, and it may be a side of me you guys have never seen before, and i won’t back down.

actually, ever since march 10th i’ve been thinking about the question, how did he make his final decision? back when he was in enhypen he seemed so conserved, especially more recent years, he never really had a strong opinion, and although me as a hee-biased person i see him getting mistreated again and again, i thought he would never had the guts to leave simply because he has such a soft and kind personality.

but now, after the single came out, i can suddenly understand. he’s compassionate, kind, and conserved, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an opinion. when he makes decisions, it’s always a big one. he can back down on small matters like not going fishing, but he won’t back down on something that may impact the rest of his life, in this case his career and artistic vision.

he knows that not all people will respect his decision, he knows people will belittle him and say vile things, he has already faced multiple hate trains, had his privacy invaded. but that won’t hold him back for what he wants to do, and what he wants to share with his fans. and that shows us that he’s way stronger than we think he is!

i know these few days has been hard for EVERs, facing mass hate and bots yapping the same shit, but look who is trending? who’s being widely discussed? you never attract that much hate for simply releasing a single unless people are jealous, threatened, and bothered.

EVAN knows what he’s doing, so EVERs, when it gets overwhelming, let’s do our part of the job, stream, engage, and vote to support EVAN, don’t be discouraged by the bubble on social media. i’ve shown many of my friends that never listened to kpop and they loved the song? like why do people expect an alt rock song to NOT have vocal filters? don’t get gaslighted by people online that can’t evan tell who’s on key or not😭🤘cheer up, be productive, let’s do this.
