I know a lot of players that are feeling the same way at the moment so looking to hold live spaces next week so we can talk about it - stay tuned for exact time.
I recently analyzed an incident involving tennis star Novak Djokovic, who was accidentally hit in the head by what appeared to be a partially-full stainless steel water bottle. To understand the physical impact, I used OpenAI's GPT to calculate the force of the bottle as it struck Novak's head. The calculations suggest that the bottle, falling from 6 feet with minimal initial force, hit with around 79.2 Newtons of force—a bit like a medium-sized dog jumping against you.
More crucially, from a neurophysiological perspective, such an impact on the right front-parietal region can be quite concerning. This area of the brain is critical for functions related to movement coordination and sensory information processing. Initial symptoms could range from headache and dizziness to more subtle cognitive disruptions like difficulty concentrating or remembering strategies and plays. For an athlete like Djokovic, whose playing style relies heavily on precision, endurance, and strategic thinking, even slight impairments could affect his performance.
In the immediate 24-48 hours following such an incident, it's paramount to monitor for signs of concussion or other neurological disturbances. These symptoms could potentially disrupt his performance in ongoing tournaments, affecting reaction times and decision-making under pressure. It's essential that medical professionals evaluate him to ensure there's no serious injury and to guide a safe return to play.
Happy New Year …I remember when this guy, only a teenager, got up on stage at the New Year’s Eve Ball and stole the show… he did again tonight, on court, with yet another masterclass … what a performer
It’s always cute when a tennis coach reads your book to his son and gives you the 👍
“My son enjoyed the book, thank you. It has a nice ethic to it, especially as he is someone who always wants to win.
He wants to read it again tonight.”

I wrote this series while bored and missing live tennis during lockdown. It is still very close to my heart
What a match yesterday, I left everything I had on the court. But that's tennis. In the end, only a few points determine the match's outcome. Nevertheless, I'm going home with my head held high; it was definitely a good match.
