On this day in #AssassinsCreed history 258 years ago, Arno Victor Dorian was born in Versailles, France to Assassin Charles Dorian and his wife Marie. Born into nobility, Arno grew up living a privileged life. After discovering his Assassin allegiances, Marie left Charles, and Arno was raised by his Father alone. In 1776, during a visit to the Palace of Versailles, Arno met a girl by the name of Élise De La Serre - a fellow noble also visiting the place - also being orphaned after his Father was mysteriously murdered. After this, Élise’s Father François adopted the young boy, who he spent the rest of his childhood with. Growing up side by side over the next years, Arno and Élise quickly fell in love. In 1789, during a party at the Palace, François was murdered and Arno was framed for it, and was arrested and transported to Paris for imprisonment at The Bastille. During the storm on the fortress on 14th July that year, in the chaos, Arno and his cellmate Pierre Bellec escaped captivity. After learning of his Assassin heritage and that Bellec worked with his Father, Arno sought out the order and began his training. Over the next years, as the French Revolution ensued chaos and anarchy on the city, Arno and Élise worked together to uncover her Father’s murder, the two falling even deeper in love. This lead to a confrontation with French Templar Grandmaster François-Thomas Germain in 1794, where while the Grandmaster was defeated, the Assassin also lost the love of his life. Not long after, Arno retreated to Franciade, devastated and depressed, drinking away his sorrows. Following a request to retrieve a manuscript in the city’s catacombs, in exchange for passage to Egypt, Arno ended up fighting for and discovering the mysterious Head Of Saint-Denis. This prompted him to stay in France, and over the next years he continued looking over Paris following the recent chaos, also aiding Napoleon Bonaparte in various matters.
