We welcome the Rt Revd Dr Mark Graham Short, Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn, as he assumes office today, All Saints' Day (1 November 2025) as 17th Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia. The first non-Metropolitan Primate in the history of our church. #anglican
You know what’s worse than celebrating the anniversary of a brutal massacre of innocents?
Pretending that you’re not celebrating the anniversary of a brutal massacre of innocents.
The Rt Revd Dr Mark Short has served as 11th Bishop of Canberra and Goulburn since 6 April 2019. He will DV assume office as 17th Primate of the Anglican Church of Australia on 1 November 2025. The first time a diocesan who was not also an Archbishop has been chosen for the role.
@paulell90 Whatever you think about the factional aspects, he got done for defaming a colleague. If he was a leader then he should not have let it get that far and when he made that error he should’ve apologized and graciously welcomed her back.
Again we have seen anti-semitic hate on the streets of Sydney. Please pray for Jewish Australians who should be able to feel safe in their own homes. We must repudiate antisemitism in all its forms.
What can we say when people come face to face with evil? How can we make sense of this desperate world? We need a word from God, which is exactly what Christmas is.

Respectfully, the Prime Minister has said nothing tonight. Gigantic word feeling salad.
Zero responsibility for his shambolic and ineffective leadership of the process.

I have joined other faith leaders to call for national unity + harmony so our multi-cultural, multi-faith community continues to thrive without hate or violence. I urge all people, whether they adhere to a faith or not, to reject all forms of antisemitism.
