@peronyawns I bought a subscription to Shonen jump America in 2002 (have since sold all of those volumes) and OP sort of creeped up on me as a “favorite.” Something about the comedy and freedom of it slowly made its way into something beloved. Probably when I was in college around 2007.

I’ve got a BA in history (though I teach ELA) and the near autocratic system we are just locked in makes me sick. That said it was sort of inherently designed to be that way.

Was in Philly this weekend and it was a great, but boy there’s a lot of reminders that Pennsylvania is a swing state. And got me thinking that we are honestly a two party system that more resembles the 17-1800s system of federalists and anti-federalism more than R and D anymore.

I’ve been teaching a graphic novel lit class again this year and it’s been good but. I feel slightly like I’ve fallen out of love with comics a bit in the last few years. Life circumstances and exhaustion to blame but, I wanna fall back in somehow.
