GHMC Commissioner Shri R.V. Karnan Garu held a meeting on 04.04.2026 at the Command Control Centre, GHMC on emerging vector-borne diseases and preventive strategies.
The programme was attended by Zonal Commissioner Priyanka Ala Garu, Additional Commissioner (Health); Shri Ravi Kiran Garu, Additional Commissioner (Sanitation); Dr. B. Reddya Naik Garu, Professor & Head, Dept. of Zoology, Osmania University; Dr. K. Padmaja Garu, CMOH; along with AMOHs of all Circles, MSU team, and senior entomologists.
Emphasized a scientific, citizen-centric & technology-driven approach to address mosquito nuisance and strengthen public health systems.
Deliberated on AI-driven tools and satellite imaging for detecting breeding sites, SMoSS for surveillance, and global innovations like AI-based larval detection and urban vector mapping, along with drone-based interventions.
Directed the formation of a Technical Committee to develop SOPs aligned with NVBDCP & MoHFW guidelines for effective and sustainable outcomes.
Reaffirmed commitment to safeguarding public health through innovation and evidence-based action.
