Please, if you're a lover of fiction, what book do I HAVE to read this year? Mind-blowing, incredible, you recommend 10 toes down to anyone around you.
(Please don't advertise your cousin's novel, my dear. I get you want to support, but tell me the one you really enjoyed.)
@Jollz I recently read How to Say Babylon by Safiya Sinclair and even though it’s a memoir, it's written in a setting that feels like Fiction and I loved the book.
I hope as a woman you learn to sit comfortably with who you are without needing it to be affirmed by men. Cultivate an iron clad sense of self because when your esteem is contingent on a man, you will spend your life re-editing yourself to be legible to each one you meet.
If you want to maintain healthy relationships in your life, you have to learn how to reconcile the right way. When you mistreat/mishandle someone that you love and care about, apologise to them & address the issue. Waiting for time to pass, hoping it will get better, is not an apology.
The little moments are always so beautiful. I love how I remember random small things and kind gestures from people. They might seem small at the time, but they go a long way and often turn into big moments for me later on.
