@oliverburkeman shares in his newsletter @paulbloomatyale's six-minute bursts productivity technique which sounds fun and I look forward to trying π€
He links to the full episode but the timestamp to hear Paul talk about it is [24:13] https://t.co/C269JarDvH
@bryankam@sivers Woah, I love it! Reminds me of steal like an artist from @austinkleon but from another angle. You'll never reach a perfect copy - nor should you.
@jeanniec333 Yes, such a good episode π Adding some highlights:
Power of the non-complete process ("count to 9")
"The more low tech your tools the more high tech you are" !!!
Negative signals, e.g. failing, is valuable part of process as it triggers (!) capacity to learn
In this stream, Bryan and I showcase our personal knowledge systems π
While they look different (text vs. images) they have a lot in common in structure and process π«
(I show My Trickle at 11:00)
The domain filter turns out even more useful than expected.
1) Copy-paste a full page or article into Trickle
2) Fine-tune the result with the domain button on top.
It's my new X-Ray vision for any links on a page π
The new *domain filter* is a fast way to connect just the sources you really want β‘οΈ
For example, all mentioned books from a Tim Ferriss episode π

Tags, page names, folders, links, etc. How we use words to remember more of what we know? π
Looking forward to my upcoming conversation with @bryankam about the role of keywords in personal knowledge management π #pkm#basb#tft

This statement resonated a lot! I love to be social but struggle to be social on social media.
While direct conversations are energising for me, spending time on Twitter often feels draining π₯Ί Still I see the value in connecting across time and space.

@String_The0rist@bryankam@trickle_app This "physical to digital layer" stuck with me for the last few days β¨ We have more and more powerful digital layers but potentially lose sight of physical ones.
One example: endless music via @Spotify but can we leave an album on our couch table and listen to it without phone?
A tool to compound all - or at least most - of the knowledge that stood out to me as good and recall it whenever I could benefit from it π
That's why I started to build Trickle...
Thanks to @finereli I reflected on why I started building @trickle_app in the first place.
I was looking for tools to help me deal with knowledge overwhelm, to stop forgetting so much of the good stuff that I read, watch and listen to online.
I was missing an effortless way to add and connect all valuable things in a single place and then be able to access them again in a way that feels rewarding.
@String_The0rist@bryankam@trickle_app 'Physical first' sounds extreme to me as I would not want to miss opportunities of new technologies (in transportation, communication, etc.)
But I'd love to explore a 'physical to digital layer' to balance digital capabilities with the much more relevant physical world β¨
@String_The0rist@bryankam@trickle_app To me "digital only" can't be the answer as we are so depending on physical, spacial orientation π
I decided to go "digital first" as by now it is most frictionless for capture and the fastest way to find due to search.
Physical data and connection are the next layer π±
