Ukraine and Moldova have opened EU accession Clusters 2 and 3, covering Internal Market and Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, marking further progress towards membership after Hungary’s new government dropped its objections to advancing Ukraine’s accession talks.

Despite this progress, Ukraine’s ongoing war with Russia and Moldova’s unresolved Transnistria conflict still raise questions about whether both countries can realistically join the EU.
