My experience to register for a vaccine so far: 'The number you're calling is currently not available', 'The voice message box of this contact is full.', constant beeping because the line is already in use, ... It's a free-for-all out there and the chemist have to deal with it.
Any recommendations where to by a new watch band in Limerick? I never looked out for those before. Right now I have a pocket watch, as my old wristband lost both of those little straps you use to keep the band itself closed.
.@Limerick_ie With all the new tourism campaigns launched today, how about something like selling a Limerick Tourism Card, which would grant you discounts / 'free' admission to the the big and small attractions in the city and 'free' public transport for like 3 or 5 days?
If you then go by Stables & want to go to the river path, don't follow the mixed cycle path. It just takes you to the flag poles. You have to join the main road and navigate a roundabout. Afterwards you can go back to a mixed path in front of Kemmys, if you notice it.
I took a spin on my bicycle around the @UL campus today & I find the cycle network there confusing. Some mixed used paths, which can be used in either direction, but the labeling is lacking some clarity. And some path just end or they don't take you where you want to go.
Let say you're at the PESS building & take the ramp up to the Sport Arena. This ramp ends on a narrow footpath, with no lowered edge to the road. And what do you do when you reach the main road? Is the footpath mixed use? The path on the other side is, but it is unreachable.
@elisaodonovan It's not only the poor state of the bikes and stations. The current operational area in Limerick is also too small to make any sense. Plus the pricing is confusing. Nobody buys a 3day pass to just cycle today. B2B deals to give employees or students a discount would also help.
@FancyVegasPro He probably has not the time to learn all the flags, because he's busy fighting the 'Limericks cycling militants' and promoting illegal parking. Or handing out Shannon Airport to the US Air Force (https://t.co/ZAVYY5aVCK). That's a lot of stuff to do!
@PedestrianLK There is a bus shuttle in Waterford, but not in Limerick. I really hope @Buseireann & @TFIupdates are working on it, because we need it, too!
@RobCross247@limerickcitybiz@LimerickCouncil @BrianLeddin @moranjohna1@kodonnellLK @FintanYTWalsh @limerickpost It's in a rough state, but it's still used by a handful of people. In fact I meet other people almost every time I walk it. It's part of the wasted potential here in Limerick. @Limerick_ie is posting beautiful trails in the county, while forgetting what we could have in the city.
@elisaodonovan@LimerickCouncil@Limerick_Leader@Live95fmNews@limerickpost People a going out to the Shannon banks and look for space to enjoy the fabulous weather in the city. And instead of opening up more spaces and routes, LCCC does what a handful of business owners want? Jesus, I wonder why the city centre was already dead before the pandemic.
@elisaodonovan @sarsfieldsride Could that be specified to change part of the playground to staff bicycle parking? It would require less space and kids could still play next to it without endangering the luxurious cars of the teachers.
@AnneCronin5 There are countless small changes that LCCC could do to improve the life of many Limerick people. But small changes don't generate big PR, which seems to be the only KPI that counts ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
TIL @TFIupdates created design guidelines for timetables in Ireland in April 2014. The bus stops in Limerick are not even close to this design full seven years later! @Buseireann @fixlimerickbus @StopsBus https://t.co/6pVarYFbWD
@LkCycleDesign @IrishTimes Someone who misjudges the speed of bicycles that badly would probably also not notice if they are doing 60kph or 100kph in their sound isolating modern SUV.
@elisaodonovan If you're feeling adventures you could talk to the @fablabLimerick crew about building your own furniture. I think they have some experience with custom benches and shelves.
