During an interview with Mama’s Geeky on TikTok, DreamWorks directors Januel Mercado and Joel Crawford revealed how BINI’s “A Parallel World” brought “another level of heart” to Forgotten Island, influencing what ultimately made it into the final film.

Joel Crawford shared that the song was originally intended to feature more English, but after hearing BINI sing it in Tagalog, “there was another level of heart that kind of changed what we ended up putting in the final film.” Januel Mercado also recalled Stacey’s Tagalog verse during Comic-Con, saying, “you can just feel the room [...] touched just hearing these lyrics.”
