📑 M. Guidi in @Gazzetta_it this morning: That Milan know the centre-forward problem remains unresolved is shown not only by the recent pursuit of Mateta, but also by last summer’s Boniface deal. Today, Boniface is considering retirement, tormented by a knee in pieces.
The tooth infection was a secondary issue
The primary issue was L4-L5 IVD degeneration which could've progressed to disk herniation.
15m back in 2009 was a big amount and he went on to join Liverpool on loan with lesser financial risk following his failed medicals.
A lot of people don't know how Milan are crazy with their medicals. It's either they are fastidious or are just avoidant when they realise details beyond a player’s physical health.
The most shocking to me will still be Aly Cissokho. Milan said the deal was scuttled because of a dentist’s report.
The player played for probably 10 clubs after that.
Why Jean-Philippe Mateta had issues with his medical at AC Milan and whether this has a knock-on effect on Crystal Palace's move for Jorgen Strand Larsen.
@SamiMokbel_BBC explains 💬
@aldeebaron@keralista Playing every minute does not mean he's 100% fit. Besides crystal palace didn't play him where his injury would aggravate. The English media knew even Juventus knew about his injury and pushed for loan options.

@michelemou5956 I was referring to this
Atalanta move broke down partly due to his injury and Atalanta Renegotiating from direct purchase to loan + option but yeah everybody tries to take no risks with injuries, however less serious they initially seem

@michelemou5956 Atalanta tried signing him 2 yrs before but he failed his medicals due to recent surgery which allegedly wasn't been performed properly, although he claims otherwise.
Milan did run some "preliminary tests" before medicals and dropped the idea completely. Better safe than sorry
