I spoke with @RepBowman in my latest for @thenation about @TheBlackCaucus relationship with AIPAC. I wrote about how the CBC has damaged their standing as the “conscience of congress.” Read “The Congressional Black Caucus’s Silent Partnership With AIPAC”

Sure. That’s an easy one. I can even give you a script that Espaillat could have used: “I understand your concern about AIPAC. I share some of them. That lobby has no influence on how I meet the needs of my constituents. Look at my record, and you can see that.”
My own thoughts are. He is a politician. If you know someone is trying to ambush you, then have sensible stock answers available, set a boundary, and move on.
@RepEspaillat@EspaillatNY represents my district. This my first time seeing this video and I’m appalled. The lack of concern mixed with the inability to just give even a bullshit answer to this young man is enough to make not vote for Espaillat.
BREAKING: Rep. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13) mocks his constituent who is struggling to afford rent as Espaillat cashes in with corporate donors.
As long as our politicians are bought out by corporate interests and funding wars abroad, they will never fight for working people.
@IntegrityOwlNYC@RepEspaillat@EspaillatNY@sunrisemvmt How do you know my mind is made up? Again, why not engage in a civil conversation without name calling? Just explain the situation, so I can look into it. but the way you are engaging so far doesn’t help convincing a voter to vote for your candidate.
@IntegrityOwlNYC@RepEspaillat@EspaillatNY@sunrisemvmt Clearly, I believe it. If I didn’t, I would not have wrote it. Here is the thing: If you are advocating for Espaillat, does it make sense to call someone a moron-especially since I was criticizing (right or wrong) an indifference he displayed to someone?
What’s crazy is that he was not this bad when he played against the Warriors a few years ago. What happened?!?
But this is the best tweet about the game so far.
Yes and no. I think it was a great game if you’re a Knicks fan. Other than that, there was a lot of really bad basketball. Some of the dumbest plays I’ve ever seen.
This tweet could have been about several plays. Without looking at the time, you’d never know which play @ShannonSharpe is talking about. What happened to De’Aaron Fox!?!?! His high ankle sprain is nowhere near his brain stem.
That is on Wemby and Mitch Johnson. How are you not able to get 2 points with a player that is 7’5? That’s just not smart basketball. The Spurs took threes when they didn’t need to and didn’t have a player skilled or experienced enough to slow the game and get 2 points with your best player.
This is “it” in a nutshell. New York is proving that it has never really been about BASKETBALL. It is about New York showing its ass, forcing itself back onto the grand stage. Celebrities littered all around the court side, New Yorkers performing their madness in the streets, ticket prices that feel like a moral crime, loudmouth ass pundits , and, at the summit of Mount Arrogance, the owner of the Knicks standing beside his presidential potna.
For all of these reasons and more, people who have no affiliation with San Antonio are pulling for the Spurs.
It is a little annoying to see white leftist and progressives who supported defund the police and supported Mamdani because he had a similar stance not grapple with the NYPD’s presence in the city during the finals now that Mamdani is mayor. I don’t say that as criticism of Mamdani.
I say that as a criticism of the inability of people to struggle through things when the politician they like is in office. Everything is not a zero sum game. You can vote for Mamdani, see the police presence, watch the Knicks, see how celebrated the one percent seems to be in this moment, embrace some of the energy in the city, and question what all of it and your enjoyment of it says about your politics.
It’s okay for the theory of your politics and the practice of your politics to be in conflict.

If you’re voting for Graham Platner, you don’t really have an issue with Donald Trump’s moral deficiencies; you have a problem with the fact that he’s not on your side.
I hate this line of questioning and I hate the way Platner avoids answering things directly. I REALLY HATE THAT HE HAS NOT MADE THE POINT THAT IF SOMEONE LEAKS HIS NUDES IT’S A F’ING CRIME. He might have been a Nazi loving F’boy. Still doesn’t mean we should be like “do you have any nudes out there that might get leaked? 👀🤤” If someone has his nudes and shares them without his consent, he’d be a victim of revenge porn.
This is all dumb. The questions about his infidelity are dumb: cheating is bad. Yes, people still cheat and lie. He and his wife worked through it. BREAKING NEWS: Shit happens in a marriage.
MIKA: Given your sexting, can you call for the release of the Epstein files and not be conflicted in any way?
PLATNER: Yes, of course. I engaged in consensual romantic activities with adults at an earlier part of my life. That seems like a fairly normal thing most people do. Going to an island with billionaires to possibly assault children is a vastly, vastly different thing.
NO WAY WAS THE NBA GOING TO DO THE CORRECT THING AND UPGRADE WEMBY'S UNCALLED FOUL TO THE FLAGRANT ON JALEN BRUNSON THAT IT OBVIOUSLY GLARINGLY WAS. THE ALIEN IS NOW THE FACE OF THE LEAGUE, THE NEW RATINGS MAGNET, THE MOST PROTECTED PLAYER IN THE NBA. THIS IS EXHIBIT A.
The amount of mistakes Wemby makes is a intense. He dribbles into trouble because he doesn’t realize his height means he dribbles at the defender’s waist line. Knicks know he is going to try and block every shot, so they pump and get him to jump on the first move. On the Spurs’ action, he moves to the three point line instead of isolating a guard on a switch closer to the block.
Do the Spurs watch tape? How do they practice? They are missing things that any novice bball player can notice.
