It’s pretty cool to have grown up reading about colossally stupid movements against things like nuclear power and now to be able to see them happen in real time as an adult.
I have never seen a psy-op more effective than the data center stuff. Absolutely wild how bipartisan the data center hate is for such an incredibly benign industry.
The same folks who'd be wildly enthusiastic over a new steel mill are irate at the idea of a data center.
I challenge anyone in MAGA to answer.
If the Trump Administration was explicitly an operation by a foreign adversary to weaken America, gut our soft power, and hollow us out from within, what exactly would they be doing differently?
When it comes to strengthening the resolve of totalitarian dictators, Donald Trump is the gift that keeps on giving.
He never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity to be small, petty, and narrow-minded when America stands for everything else.
Our friends and adversaries in the Indo-Pacific are watching and taking stock of the President’s rhetoric and actions — and shaking their heads in disbelief.
Vance’s entire political viewpoint is promoting American decline.
A weakened United States on the world stage. A weak US dollar. Men working in factories were the hand assemble things the US government pays for.
It’s managed decline as far as the eye can see.
Dedollarization is longtime ambition of Russia and China- another way to bring down America. Once again the Trump admin acts on behalf of foreign interests
“Unless you were beating up cops on January 6th while trying to overturn an election, in which case I will authorize a slush fund to pay them out of your tax dollars while shielding a historically corrupt President from prosecution.”
This entire story is Trump's presidency in a nutshell: the DOJ brings totally baseless charges against an ordinary citizen in order to satisfy Trump's narcissistic delusions, and then, after having wreaked havoc on the guy's life, says "Never mind." Utterly pathetic.
“Another way of saying it is simply that we’re replacing the free market with the market for Trump’s affections.”
Must read scoop from the WSJ: https://t.co/LyWHPMQxC1
What’s the ratio of articles imploring Democrats to learn from a guy who won a mayoral election in New York City to learning from a guy who’s winning yet again in North Carolina?
Fifty to one? Five hundred?
The biggest scandal of the Obama administration was the IRS giving extra scrutiny to Tea Party groups, saying they might be political. Under Trump, staffers freely admitted they canceled every grant going to a blue state to punish blue states. Not even a front page story.
Pro Waymo, pro data center, pro nuclear, pro solar, pro train, anti zoning, pro housing has to be one of the most correct and unelectable combinations in America
I think you would help black students much more if you raised the education standards at schools citywide than by doing affirmative action for a couple dozen seats at Stuyvesant.
Lincoln is in a scarcity mindset - the most important thing is arguing about who gets which piece of a fixed pie. Instead we should grow the pie, raise the quality of education every student is getting.
The problem isn't that the admissions process is racist. It's that far too many kids, often disproportionately black kids, are receiving terrible quality instruction for most of their lives, and by the time admissions season rolls around they're so far behind they have zero shot at a school like Stuy.
this is a perfect example of the political double standard that republicans benefit from: Democrats have never denied disaster aid for red states, and it would be a massive scandal if they did
… but Trump does it and it’s barely a story because he does corrupt stuff every day
