Thank you, @SenBlumenthal and @SenThomTillis, for the opportunity to meet with you and your colleagues from both parties and both chambers of Congress. I informed them about Russia’s brutal “shahed” drone attack in the Kharkiv region, where Russia killed six people, including a mother and her child, who was just over a year old. I showed the horrifying photos from the scene – a child killed in a stroller… This is how Russia responds to sanctions waivers and reduced pressure.
I also explained where things stand with intelligence sharing and Starlink operations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, we received no early warning from our partners about the first wave of the Russian ballistic missile attack last night. And we still face speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services in different parts of the front. No explanation for either of these issues has been provided to Ukraine by the American side.
Our teams will follow up on everything discussed today. I thank everybody who participated in this call for their strong support.
YIKES -- Trump loses his shit at a reporter for the third time during this Q&A -- "Wait wait -- Quiet. Quiet!!!! What's wrong with you? Are you a SICK person?"
An Egg McMuffin with OJ is now over 10 bucks. If you’re working a minimum wage job, that’s more than half an hour’s work in Arizona, and even more in many other states. Everything is more expensive in Trump’s economy.
“Wait! WAIT! You better be careful… Quiet! QUIET! What’s wrong with you? Are you a sick person?”
The short-tempered thin-skinned dictator wannabe with cratering approval numbers repeatedly loses his shit at reporters. (H/T @atrupar)
I just want to remind people what nearly two years of Trump’s presidency—with Republicans controlling Congress and backing him every step of the way—have brought us:
Sweeping tariffs costing households more than $1,000 a year.
A law that is kicking millions of Americans off their health care while giving tax breaks to the wealthy.
Millions of taxpayer dollars spent renovating the White House to Trump’s personal liking.
Trump’s estimated fortune growing by billions while families struggled with rising costs.
A $70 billion blank check for ICE and CBP to torment American communities and arrest hardworking immigrants—even after their agents shot and killed American citizens.
Continued secrecy surrounding the Epstein files, with Trump’s Justice Department still withholding records.
A costly, senseless war with Iran that has driven prices even higher.
The last two years have been a disaster.
Americans wanted a Congress and President focused on lowering their costs. Instead, they got a Republican Congress that rubber-stamped Trump’s reckless decisions and corruption every step of the way.
Kara Swisher reacts to President Trump once again sidestepping questions about who is responsible for restricting Ukraine's use of Elon Musk's Starshield service, the military counterpart to SpaceX's Starlink network. "This is a typical tactic of both Musk and Trump," she says.
BREAKING: James Talarico just released an incredible video reminding every American what hope feels like. This is the best political ad we've seen in a long time.
Baby Anhelina and her mom Inna were killed by Russia yesterday.
Anhelina was just over a year old. Her mom, Inna Mariukhna, was a primary school teacher. They were in the park in Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv region, when a Russian drone attacked.
Little Anhelina was killed in her stroller. Her mom died of her injuries in hospital.
Another girl killed in the strike was just 11 years old.
Six people lost their lives from that Russian strike. All of them had simply been spending time in the park. At least 15 more were injured, including seven kids.
Deepest condolences...
🇺🇦 Zelenskyy delivers a blunt message to the United States:
“Just give us Starlink back. If you refuse, Ukraine will survive. We will continue defending ourselves with or without it.
But why would you restrict a country fighting for its survival? Why make it harder for us to defend our people?
I simply cannot understand the reasoning behind this decision. It is a mistake.”
Ukraine isn’t asking America to fight its war. It’s asking America not to stand in the way of its defense.
I was proud to partner with @SenBlumenthal today for a call with President Zelenskyy to hear firsthand about the challenges Ukraine faces on the battlefield. His message remains clear: Ukraine wants peace. Degrading Ukraine’s satellite communications, weakening its air defenses and easing sanctions against Russia only embolden Putin and prolong this war.
@ZelenskyyUa confirmed ongoing Starlink disruptions, reported interruptions to critical U.S. intelligence sharing and raised concerns about delays in air defense interceptors. He also reiterated his willingness to halt strikes on Russian energy facilities if Putin agrees to do the same.
Congress has overwhelmingly supported tough sanctions against those enabling Putin’s war. We remain committed to standing with Ukraine and our European allies to end Russia’s brutal aggression and secure lasting peace.
“It’s unconscionable that this administration is capitulating to a Russian dictator who illegally invaded Ukraine and butchers innocent civilians every single day.” - (GOP) Sen. Thom Tillis
