Rovers SAR was tasked by @NL_HealthServ this morning to assist with an injured hiker on the Signal Hill trail. Due to the location of the incident and the injuries, Rovers SAR deployed its Helicopter 🚁 Rescue team to retrieve the individual from the trail.

OPEN HOLE IN ICE IN OCTAGON POND NEAR BOAT LAUNCH

@RoversSAR will be completing Ice Rescue Training tonight, March 7 in Octagon Pond in @townofparadise

This training requires cutting a large open hole in the ice for rescuers to perform technical traning exercises.

Rovers SAR advises the public that we will be taking part in Helicopter Rescue training tomorrow, Sunday February 19 at our base in @townofparadise The public will notice increased helicopter🚁 activity in the area, including scenario based training which may seem realistic.

Rovers SAR are doing a domenstration of a their new helicopter highline rescue system. It attaches to a helicopter & allows teams to rappel down to transport people to safety. It can carry up to 5 people at a time. It has already been used once to save an elderly man @VOCMNEWS
