Started my playthrough yesterday! Had to force myself to stop or I would have gone to bed at a silly time. Turning out to be a Final Fantasy season after Remake in January, Resonance in September and Revelations next year!! Playing on #NintendoSwitch2 🔥🔥
Why do people keep saying "If Microsoft leaves hardware, then Sony will have no competition."
Nintendo is a competitor to PlayStation. You think Sony would be making a handheld if they didn't see Nintendo as competition?
You think its a coincidence that Sony is pulling PC support right when Nintendo has the best third party support since the SNES days on Switch 2. Sony doesnt have anything in its first party arsenal that can rival Animal Crossing, Smash Bros or Zelda, let alone Mario and Pokemon, so their biggest advantage they are starting to lose so exclusives are more important than ever for Sony.
Thats not even including the fact that Nintendo has a total monopoly in their homeland of Japan, which Sony doesn't like.
They are direct competitors, it's asinine to think otherwise.
Though I agree that Nintendo will take longer to make games… but even with Switch 1’s incredible output, we got 1 3D Mario, 1 Mario Kart, 1 Smash, 1 Luigi’s Mansion, 1 Mario Tennis, 1 Mario Soccer, 1 exclusive Zelda etc.. in almost *9* years. Remakes/rereleases filled the gap.
Nintendo first party development is starting to run into the same issues as everyone else in the industry with the Switch 2 and higher fidelity games that take longer to make.
I don’t think we can expect the same release cadence for their big first party games. Nintendo will have to rely more on outsource partners, remakes, Switch 2 editions and third parties to keep the software lineup strong imo.
Big love to @TheNCSmaster his page is great.
This comment made me go back and look at the Switch 1 3rd party games and the vids I made on them.
And I realized Switch 1 didn't have a single day and date with PS/Xbox, new AAA 3rd party game in it's entire life 💀 (correct me if I'm wrong)
The excitement from comments back in the Switch 1 era were:
"WOW we're getting a 6 year old port of Skyrim 8 months after the system launches!"
Or
"HOW did they get DOOM 2016 on Switch !?"
While Switch 2 is getting mainline: Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Alien Isolation, Tomb Raider, Call of Duty, Onimusha day and date with other platforms. In addition to fairly recent games like Street Fighter, Stellar Blade, Digimon, Gran Blue, Dragon's Dogma and more.
The standards were REALLY low at the time after the Wii U / 3DS. 😅
I don’t believe I’ve ever been disappointed with a Zelda artstyle. Maybe ALBW? Though that walked so that that Awakening and EoW could run. The rest? Absolutely brilliant.
The fact that some got upset by the art style of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake on Switch 2 really confuses me....like I sort of understand Star Fox, but for OOT, I'm not sure what people want instead....more cel shaded Zelda?
Who knows...but I'm all in for this.😎
Ocarina of Time is called the "Citizen Kane" of video games for a reason. Ask Dan Houser, creator of Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead, who says, "Anyone who makes 3D games who says they’ve not borrowed something from Mario or Zelda is lying."
He compares the new games to Hitchcock.
We’re feeling emotional about today’s announcement. How things change…
"The flow of time is always cruel; its speed seems different for each person, but no one can change it... A thing that does not change with time is a memory of younger days..." -Sheik
Started with Laufey, ended with Ocarina of Time. I’m beyond satisfied. E3 2004 vibes when the big 3 shows ended with the epic Twilight Princess Miyamoto reveal. Shame the surprise was spoiled
I’m confident in saying that this summer gave us the greatest streak of video game shows and announcements the decade has seen yet.
Which one was your favorite?
@NintyPrime Same for me. Starfox in two weeks. I have Rebirth for summer (too busy with Indiana Jones after finishing Pragmata & Mouse PI), then Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Resonance & Sports Resort before Duskbloods and Ocarina of Time. There will probably be be a Sept Direct as well
