This LGA report on performance of academies and maintained schools is being spun in a misleading way. If you look at the data the difference is entirely down to lower ratings of sponsored academies. This is hardly surprising, as they are, by definition, low performing schools. The test for these schools is whether they are improving. In football and rugby - women's sport is advancing by opportunities to play the same game as the men.

In cricket? not so much. First class cricket is only for men apparently - @ECB_cricket and broadcasters collude to keep women out by pushing a whole new game.

Not least because people will (either consciously or subconsciously) decide that your argument must be very weak if you use aggression rather than logic - even if they 'say' they agree with you.

Persuading people to change is difficult. You need to use logic and sensible arguments to change hearts and minds. This takes time, patience and can be dispiriting. It is, however, the only way to achieve lasting change in attitudes that make things better for everyone.

Using protests, and threats and violence to shortcut this process may achieve the appearance of agreement (as people will say they agree in order to get a quiet life), but will not achieve lasting change.
