#COM112 Content piece 3! Podcast: Augusto Boal and the Age of the Selfie
https://t.co/CoshdOGb2I
If you've ever wanted to hear a scratchy, very bedroom-quality podcast ranging from Western theatre history to social media and selfies then TODAY IS YOUR DAY!
@JockCheetham This won't be the submitted version, but I'd love a once-over to check that I can submit this as 'Interactive' or 'Game', unique from my text content piece.
#COM112 Content Piece 2 - The Gig Economy
https://t.co/NhR9SqYJOr
This is a rough draft of a piece of interactive fiction satirising employment practices in the gig economy by remixing H. G. Wells' The Time Machine. It's very unpolished at the moment but feedback is welcome!
@erin80m Stromae (Belgian singer) remixed an aria by Bizet!
https://t.co/dhsWmryxSQ
Remixing was common in classical music itself, it was a big thing to take a theme from someone else and develop a piece of music from that. https://t.co/xDquNbDk8w shows just how much it happened
#COM112 - Assessment 2 - Content piece 1!
'Mobs of Marauding Birds' - Investigating Narratives of the Emu War in Memes. A blog post exploring memes about the 1932 Emu War in social and historical context.

@PaigeCa05832644 So the logic goes. Social media can definitely amplify this as interaction becomes so performative, but I think the disaffection from something like this is very, very real. It can feel impossible to reach out to people in good faith, so we get a lot of conflict instead. #COM112
@PaigeCa05832644 So admittedly I'm fairly cynical. If we can trace current events to people in positions of power acting cynically and without regard for their constituents or the environment, and resistance to that trend doesn't seem to hold it back, then what is there to do but blame? #COM112
@EricasmitsJ This is really cool! I'm working on the same topic for my first piece of content.
This is the most memorable thing that I remember about it, really: https://t.co/OAxK7zBUEI
It's a great example of how something that goes viral can be used to spread a message as well.
Don't work towards an arbitrary ideal, don't work specifically against an ideal, just don't make it part of your process. Focus on the authenticity of your ideas and how you can represent them. You'll have your tropes, your creation won't be 'original', but it can be authentic.
#COM112 week 4
Remixing is a big idea in storytelling memes, or tropes. TVTropes has some cool articles:
https://t.co/PA3cl8k2yi - As we expect, it doesn't exist.

https://t.co/gsymau0dnV - Developing old ideas in original ways.

Openness to experience - Apple
Conscientiousness - Amazon
Extraversion - Facebook
Agreeableness - Microsoft
Neuroticism - Google
