The state hasn’t executed anyone in a generation but still has 120+ people on death row, who a future governor could try to execute.

@JoshShapiroPA Governor Shapiro announced that he will grant a reprieve to any inmate set to be executed.
@JoshShapiroPA “Today, I am respectfully calling on the General Assembly to work with me to abolish the death penalty once and for all here in Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said in a news conference at Mosaic Community Church in Philadelphia.

Today, the Biden administration urged the U.S. Supreme Court to reject a challenge to Harvard College’s use of race in admissions and leave in place #AffirmativeAction programs at selective universities around the country.
President Biden is also asking Health and Human Services and the Justice Department to review how #marijuana is scheduled under federal law.
@POTUS Biden has #pardoned all federal and D.C. offenses of simple #marijuana possession. He also called on governors to pardon simple state marijuana possession offenses.
More than 6,500 people were convicted of simple possession between 1992 and 2021 under federal law, and thousands more under DC code.
