The devastation happening right now in LA is a symptom of something much larger.
For years firefighters have been asked to do the hardest job in America with dwindling support. Firefighters on the front lines of fires like those engulfing LA work 16+ hour days, in the most extreme conditions on earth, trying to save lives and livelihoods. What have we given them in exchange?
Among the lowest pay of any government employee in America (starting wages for a wildland firefighter are $34,000 / year).
No predictability on future pay increases (e.g., congress failed to act in 2024 to pass the Wildfire Pay Protection Act (WFPPA) to the secure funding supplements to firefighter pay -- setting the stage for thousands of potential resignations which some estimate at 50% of the workforce).
Persistent cuts to existing budgets (e.g., LA County cut the firefighting budget by nearly $20M this fiscal year, making it the second largest cuts to any department in the county -- and LA county is not unique).
When those budget cuts happen, the first things to get cut are often referred to as 'discretionary items' -- and this almost always includes the work we do: supplying essential hydration to firefighters. Over 50% of fire departments in America now have no formal budget allocated to hydration.
All while the average firefighter on the frontlines of a fire like those raging in the Palisades loses up to 1 gallon of sweat every two hours. This isn't just a budget problem. It's a moral failing by our elected leaders to support the folks putting their lives on the line every single day for the rest of us.
We're firefighter owned and starting today we'll be donating a bag of electrolytes to LA fire stations with every bag purchased from our site.

Does the Pokémon Company have another hit on their hands?
Pokémon Sleep has racked up 3M global downloads in two weeks.
Even crazier? Gaming pubs have had to warn players not to take sleeping pills to get ahead 🤯
I had a headache every day working in an office and staring at a computer. The day I left, I haven’t had a headache since. Being inside all day and looking at a computer jacks you up
