🤔A pesar de que la vacuna neumocócica ha sido un éxito rotundo, el Streptococcus pneumoniae sigue siendo la causa principal de bacteremia en menores que acuden a urgencias.
Puntos clave para recordar:
1️⃣ Las vacunas funcionan: Han reducido drásticamente casos graves, pero el patógeno sigue presente y circulando
2️⃣ Ojo con la fiebre: En niños pequeños con fiebre sin origen claro, mantener una vigilancia estrecha, incluso si están vacunados
3️⃣ Otros protagonistas: E. coli y S. aureus también aparecen con fuerza en las estadísticas.
