Honestly, I’d be so surprised if this happened. Seeing Gyokeres strengths during the WC also just shows that he will do really well next season. Don’t get me wrong - Alvarez is a top player but I think this deal will just cause huge strain. Don’t fix something that’s not broken.
Julian Alvarez Update
If you remember, I stated there was another attacker I chose to keep anonymous. That player was indeed Julian Alvarez. The reason I said it was sensitive was because one of our players (Gyökeres) was potentially involved but let me just provide the facts for Arsenal fans. To my understanding the following statements are 100% factual.
• The players dream is Barca (personal terms agreed already)
• Barca have always wanted Julian to go public with his desire to force Atleti's position
• Atleti are adamant they will not to sell to Barca and would rather sell abroad but it wont stop Barca from trying
• PSG to my understanding left the race due to Campos / Enrique not wanting a player who doesn’t absolutely prioritise them but I wont be shocked if they return due to the players quality
• Julian has been a target for Arsenal since last summer
• After our group stage game Arteta made it clear we must atleast be in the race for the Argentine
• I can 100% confirm Atleti have interest in Viktor Gyökeres
• Andrea Berta has maintained contacts with the camp since last summer and has explored 'different structures & mechanisms' to bring Julian Alvarez to North London in the recent months…
• Reports about 'the English weather' being a reason Julian and his family would not return to England are absolutely false.
• The player would be very open to joining Arsenal and has directly told us should his dream to Barca become impossible
• Arsenal are yet to officially formalise their interest but Atleti are well aware of our interest.
The situation is chaotic but my role is to provide the absolute facts to the best of my knowledge in real time not predict the future. Its difficult enough tracking Berta and his 1000 spinning plates technique, its even harder when he silently speaks to ex-colleagues at Atleti with whom he has a lot of trust with but I have presented the facts. Genuinely feel a lot of relief talking about this all as its been exhausting to track for 14 months. I need to sleep now as I have been awake all night contacting sources 😂
@paulineinessex No I agree, but our underlying issues that we have with consistency is really plain to see. I just don’t know if Arteta + squad realise this. We’re so close. But it’s self sabotage at its finest
I genuinely think Arteta + the squad need a session with the fans present. I get that they see stuff online, but nothing beats having that 1 to 1 experience with the fans. We all know what needs to be done and we’re at the brink of collapse.
It’s honestly a mixture of issues at Arsenal right now.
Tactics - very questionable at times
Gameplay - half of the players literally stand with the ball. There’s no urgency anymore? What happened? Where’s the pace? Why does Odegaard struggle to find Gyokeres?
Just as things were looking solid in terms of foundation. If we genuinely don’t even win one trophy I will be absolutely gobsmacked. I doubt we’ll win another PL or win the CL in my lifetime at this rate and that’s really unfortunate to see.
Some thoughts. It’s gonna be a long one so apologies in advance. People may not even see this lol but it’s only right to vent. The bottom line is that it really is the hope that kills you. This season really was handed over to us to win but the team can’t seem to get it right
Reason being is we’ve been here before. So many times tbh and the sad part is if this does go to crap - the project really will end. Key players will certainly leave and tbh I don’t blame them. It’ll be scary times ahead.
I’m not being dramatic at all. But we’re at the point of make v break. The next move whether that’s formation changes, squad selection, transfer activity this month is going to shape the entire season. Right now, it’s not going in the way we want. Pray for some change. #Arsenal
The whole online presence from these outlets regarding Myles Lewis Skelley is so weird. He hasn’t featured for us for a few games. We’re trying to go for the title. Naturally if you’re not up to par you don’t play. So why is this any different?
Having Rodrygo as our ‘primary winger target’ is great and all but you can clearly see from a mile away it’s going to be one of those that drags out and is no where near concrete. I honestly would love for Arsenal to just get the work done for our important targets we need.
Never come across a deal being ‘done’ in July and that a player is asked to keep quiet.
0 solid transfer activity as of yet. Again returning to that horrible feeling we’re going to have a bad window. Please prove me wrong Arsenal.
