@tunuvamelim it’s like “tall, dark, and handsome.” it had a certain meaning when white was the literary status quo (which is more recent than we care to admit!). but also, it’s not like wuthering heights where the racial coding is so obvious. the seam is ‘othered’ but still white

@tunuvamelim admittedly i didn’t read the new book and have also been slightly peeved at the insistence that katniss is canonically non-white for a long time lol. there’s simply not enough evidence and like you said, gives sc way too much credit
