@actorspaces @Ta_Hlumza There is a show called 'Beter as gester' on Kyknet, what are fantastic show! I hope the SABC will give us shows of that caliber.

But I don't understand the entertainment industry because I'm just viewer, maybe budget play a role in the type of shows that are produced.

[Lebo @kgoshigadi_lebo]

@actorspaces @Ta_Hlumza They released a statement saying the show pulled about 270k viewers only but they also said they are still committed to delivering Afrikaans drama/content and that is very encouraging for me because I want them to give us more Afrikaans content.

[Lebo @kgoshigadi_lebo]

@actorspaces @Ta_Hlumza The SABC needs to operate as a going concern and to achive that, shows need to generate revenue. I'm not saying that shows shouldn't represent minority groups but that they should also be entertaining in order to get viewership.

[Lebo @kgoshigadi_lebo]

@actorspaces @Ta_Hlumza Shows need to be entertaining as much as they are representative, representation on its own doesn't mean anything if people are not even watching the show to "see themselves". If a shoe is not pulling the required viewership & revenue, then the SABC is justified for not renewing.

[Actor Spaces @actorspaces]

@kgoshigadi_lebo @Ta_Hlumza The SABC’s social responsibility goes beyond ratings. That said, wasn’t the show 6th most-watched? Also a clear statement from SABC would put all speculation to rest.

Actor Spaces is so important to the industry.

I visited their offices last week up there in Milpark and I go to see the space that hosts auditions for hit television shows and where they train the new generation of actors and it was - 🤌🏽

Amazing work is being done there.
