The story surrounding Gulshan Grover and Katrina Kaifโs kissing scene becomes deeply uncomfortable when you look at the way it has been discussed publicly. According to accounts that have circulated over the years, Grover reportedly rehearsed the intimate scene for around two hours because he was nervous about filming it, while Amitabh Bachchan allegedly joked about the situation.
What makes the story controversial today is the claim that Katrina was extremely young at the time. If those age claims are accurate, the entire incident deserves to be viewed far more critically rather than treated as a funny Bollywood anecdote. Jokes about senior actors wanting similar scenes with a much younger actress can sound disturbing through a modern lens, especially considering the huge age and power imbalance within the film industry.
Instead of romanticising these stories as harmless behind-the-scenes gossip, Bollywood should probably question why uncomfortable situations involving very young actresses were so casually laughed about in the first place.
Just found out about the crazy drama behind Katrina Kaifโs debut movie #Boom and honestly, how did she even survive this?
The whole story behind that viral scene at the Burj Al Arab hotel is completely wild. #Katrinakaif was only 19 and brand new to the country when the director literally sent her and #GulshanGrover into a room alone to practice a bold kissing scene. And they did it for two full hours.
To make things crazier, right in the middle of this intense rehearsal, the door opened and Amitabh Bachchan walked straight in! Gulshan Grover later admitted they both completely froze out of pure embarrassment. Imagine being a total newbie on your first film and getting caught like that by Big B himself! ๐ญ
When they finally went to shoot, the director changed the routine on the spot, making Katrina slide across a table and grab Gulshan by the collar. While Gulshan was stressed, Katrina actually kept her cool and pulled it off perfectly.
Years later, when the scene kept going viral, Katrina just shut it down.
She straight up said, "Whatโs there to react? I donโt deny I have done the scenes, but I wasnโt comfortable." She completely wiped the movie from her memory and even blocked the makers from releasing any uncut footage.
But honestly, my point is - who actually needs two full hours just to rehearse a single kiss? What was the director even thinking pushing a teenage newcomer that far?
What do you guys think? Was the director totally crossing the line here, or was this just peak early 2000s Bollywood madness? Drop your thoughts below! ๐๐
Dear Gen Z,
You may not know the glorious early years of Modi and Shah. Here's a brief history.
Haren Pandya was Modi's home minister when Modi was parachuted in as Gujarat CM in October 2001. Modi wasn't an MLA and had to win a seat within six months. He needed a safe one. Without it, he was sure to lose.
His eyes fell on Ellis Bridge, the safest BJP seat in Ahmedabad. Haren Pandya was its MLA. Modi asked him to step aside. Pandya's reply: "I'm ready to give this seat to anyone but Modi." He had known Modi for years.
Vajubhai Vala was asked to resign. He obliged, gave up his Rajkot seat, and Modi was in.
In March 2003, Haren Pandya went for his morning walk. He was found dead in his car. Five bullets. The story cooked up: terrorists from Hyderabad. It fell apart.
The truth is simple. Sohrabuddin Sheikh and his aide Tulsi Prajapati pulled the trigger. Sohrabuddin ran with Amit Shah's extortion racket. The man who gave the contract is no secret.
When the UPA took over, the CBI picked up the case. But by then Sohrabuddin and his wife were already dead. Tulsi Prajapati followed, killed in a fake encounter. And the man smiling next to Modi in that photograph? D.G. Vanzara. He carried out both killings.
The CBI had audio tapes of Amit Shah. Shah was arrested in July 2011, bailed on one condition: stay out of Gujarat. The case moved to Mumbai.
Judge Loya, an honest judge, had all the evidence before him. He summoned Amit Shah repeatedly. Shah never showed up, not once, even in Mumbai. Loya was about to order his arrest. Days later, Loya was dead, in Nagpur, at a colleague's daughter's wedding.
He had been offered โน100 crore and the Chief Justiceship of the Bombay High Court for a favourable verdict. He refused to sell his conscience. He paid with his life.
There's more. Read. Remember. This is the gang sitting in the highest seats of power in our great nation.
Also, Starlink has proven to be essential for saving lives during natural disasters throughout the world, when all other communications systems have failed, so you would also be helping save men, women and children throughout India. ๐ฎ๐ณ
Dear Prime Minister Ambani,
Please accept my humble apologies for not realizing that you are the real boss of India.
Naturally, you would prefer to maintain your monopolistic exploitation of the great people of India, but would you nonetheless consider allowing Starlink to compete?
There are many areas of India, as there are in all countries, with no Internet access, which denies children the opportunity for education and for small businesses the opportunity to sell their goods to a global market. Starlink would change their lives for the better.
Thank you ๐
