A classicist does some lukewarm literary criticism of something she has expertise on, and all the randos on Twitter who think big explosion sounds are peak cinema are acting like she personally shot Nolan in the head. People like you are why anti-intellectualism is so rampant.
why does him saying he referenced her translation mean that she owes him a good review? she’s a scholar, she thinks he adapted the work she spent years of her life studying and translating rather poorly. If this was coming from a man none of this uproar would even exist
Nolan publicly saying he referenced her translations a lot while working on the movie and then her saying this is one of those things that reinforces why so much of the public finds academics insufferably snobbish and elitist
هما المصريين يعرفوا ايه عن الgreek mythology عشان يخلصوا تذاكر the odyssey
بجد انتوا اصلا عالم فاضية و مش بيعجبكوا حاجة و الي عايزين يروحوا فعلا مش عارفين
@NealGardner_ I get that he wants to join Barcelona, but he made his own bed with this disastrous contract, and now he has to sleep in it. Depending only on a verbal promise from a CEO as a safeguard is a ridiculously stupid move that he’s now paying for. We should look elsewhere.
