The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him. -Exodus 15:2

It’s *impossible* to grow in our spiritual life without being committed to prayer.
The goal is not to “do it right” but to keep showing up. As you do so, you’ll find that 10-15 minutes is much too short a time to be with God in this way.
As Napoleon advanced, Lincoln took his first breaths.
In each era the world faces battles. At the same time babies are born who will topple tomorrow’s troubles.
We focus on battles, not babies.
Except at Christmas.
THIS baby secures our future AND gives us peace for today.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. -Proverbs 3:5-6
If we forget our soul hunger can only be satisfied by daily doses of God’s truth, we’ll be prone to snack on deception.
Let’s be sure we’re aligning our words, thoughts, and desires with Scripture today.
Let’s make empathy and grace the starting place for hard conversations.
This doesn’t mean we water down God’s Word. It exemplifies we understand it and are living His message out loud.
Empathy and grace don’t discount truth. But unkindness surely does.
If there is something you want, something you are dreaming about, something you believe God has for you, then it still requires action. It still requires the moving of feet. The momentum. The hard work. The showing-up-even-when-it’s-hard.
When our pain is talking and all we hear are negative thoughts, let's be sure we bring those thoughts under the authority of Truth:
“We take captive every thought and make it obedient to Christ. ” (2 Corinthians 10:5)
“Whatever is true… think on such things.” (Philippians 4:8)
@anniefdowns today’s quarantine episode was one of my faves!! BTW it’s Johari’s window (even though someone else has probably beat me to this). Also yes. Let’s draw out of a hat and GO! I’m so ready.🛫#thatsoundsfun
Driving with my windows down. Stopped at a light and somewhat ironically the car’s music next to me plays: “vaya con dios, going home now to stay”.... I had to laugh. Impeccable timing. #coronavirus#COVID19#laughterliftsspirits
One blessing of COVID-19 is it permits needed respites and mini-sabbaths, something we need far more of and just maybe folks will come out of this a little different and with a little less division over foolish things.
God is still at work, friend. And you can absolutely trust Him.
Let this verse be your soul’s declaration tonight.
“But I trust in your unfailing love;
my heart rejoices in your salvation.
I will sing the Lord’s praise,
for he has been good to me,” (Psalm 13:5-6).
