GOV. HOCHUL SHUNS TEENS

This afternoon in Brooklyn, a group of high school students from a journalism class at the Lyons Community School heard @GovKathyHochul was holding a press conference next door at the Williamsburg Community Center and headed over with their teacher Peter Maiwald to get the scoop.

TWU Local 100 members were also on scene with signs and chants, reminding Hochul that her MTA has yet to offer us a fair and equitable contract after two months of bargaining.

Initially the budding journalists were welcomed to attend, but after they expressed interest in asking Governor Hochul why there were angry union members outside her event, they were told those questions wouldn’t be allowed and they could not come in after all because the event was invite only.

Rather than stand outside for a glimpse of a governor that wouldn’t speak with them, the students left. But they learned a very valuable lesson—sometimes those elected to represent you will do anything to avoid answering questions.

When she SCABBED the NYC Nurses Strike and then did her cut-throat best to break STRIKING @LIRR workers, it signaled to any neutral onlookers that she’s an ANTI-TRADE UNION Governor for THE BOSSES. Now she’s demanding destructive concessions in contract bargaining with @TWULocal100 NYC Transit Workers. ZERO DEMOCRATS are calling out her behavior . ABSOLUTE SILENCE. If she was a REPUBLICAN, NY’s @TheDemocrats would public chastising Hochul , and rightfully so. TWU Local 525 Firefighters at the Space Force Station are waiting to be deployed to start battling fires in the woods and brush surrounding the launch pad to stop it from spreading further. The pad is still too dangerous to send in crews there. This is an extremely hazardous situation requiring a highly trained and well coordinated response. @TwuSamuelsen

Akron Metro transit workers in TWU Local 1 took their anger at going nearly three years without a raise to the Akron Metro Board at its meeting this morning at the Pfaf Transit Center, and to @yourmetrobus riders via media interviews. TWU International has provided strike training and other support for Bus Operators, Vehicle Maintenance Workers, and Clerical Workers who deserve, and are demanding, respect and a fair contract. @TwuSamuelsen
