Argh. I delete my account of close to 15 years because Twitter had become such a cesspool. Literally 2 months later @elonmusk is buying it, and it might get to be ok again. Here's to new beginnings I guess. 🤷♂️
Yes. Screen addiction—exacerbated by the Covid lockdowns— has had a devastating impact on focus, attention, and motivation and has led to an exponential increase in social anxiety. I see this every day.
This Class of 2022 fifth-year injunction is just the latest reminder that college sports as we knew it is gone. Between courts handing out extra years of eligibility, NIL turning every roster into a bidding war, and the transfer portal making loyalty completely optional, there’s no continuity left. You can’t get attached to players or programs anymore because everything resets every offseason based on money and lawsuits. It’s driving longtime fans like me away. I miss when college sports felt like college sports.
Therapy culture is similar to woke culture—both have valid roots but have been hijacked by systems motivated by profit and social control.
They rely on similar social enforcement mechanisms:
Virtue signaling
Validation entitlement
Scripted vocabulary
Polarization
Social media dominance
Erosion of individuality
Intimidation tactics
Cancel culture
How Therapy Culture Manufactures Trauma:
Take a behavior that 90% of people identify with.
Assert with authority that it's a symptom of "complex trauma."
Claim this “symptom” proves one or both parents were "neglectful" or "narcissistic."
Encourage “No Contact”.
The logical leaps are wild but the message is validating. It captures people—and they begin to rewrite their own history.
Americans overwhelmingly favor requiring photo ID to vote, even CNN admits it,
"The bottom line is this: voter ID is not controversial in this country."
