I have a *ton* of work to do—grading, planning, administrative stuff, etc.—but I had meetings and worked full days every day of my spring “break” so I am going to throw open the windows, clean my house, and hopefully clear my head.
@BridgetGelms I’ve never codified it, but now that you mention it, I have one or two assignments that I emphasize should take a specific amount of time and a cursory glance shows that those have higher completion rates than others. You’ve inspired me to give this a try!!
I encountered the middle part/side part discourse in October? and made the decision then: as someone who resisted in middle school—the worst time of our lives—I can take it now, too. I don’t have the bone structure. 🤷🏻♀️
@WahooDawg No rush—though that sounds amazing! I’ve seen really great ones for social media and heard about a built-in for Microsoft 365 but havent checked further.
Question for those who give video feedback on student writing: how do you make it accessible and still reap the time-saving benefits? I can’t reconcile it in my brain, but I desperately want to (for both the efficiency and the pedagogical rewards).
@WahooDawg For sure! Saving time isn’t my *only* priority, but I’m teaching 4 different classes right now (2 of them new) so it’s taking precedence at the moment! Certainly not at the sacrifice of learning. I’m starting to wonder if it’s worth it to switch just for the novelty, though!
