A lot of my opinion on privacy, “AI”, and surveillance is informed by the documentary and cautionary tale of _Brazil_ (1985). Go and watch it. It’s good.

@KodyKinzie@GabeTheGoober I'm playing with a different brand of garage door opener. Shows up around 433.879 - 433.939MHz, using FM476 modulation.
I don't see an "emulate" button after I go through the Read or the Sub-Ghz > Add Manually.
I'm on the vanilla 0.71.1 firmware.
Surely it is a coincidence that there is a spike in user sign ups and site activity after the teams responsible for stamping out bot nets, moderating hate speech, and suspending abusive users are all fired?
Today is the 40th anniversary of the Wairere House Bombing.
This building housed the New Zealand Police computer holding data on crime and criminals. Neil Roberts blew up the front doors.

Anyone who has struggled with imposter syndrome should be feeling a lot better about themselves after the past couple weeks.

Over the years I’ve posted a few comments about bad bosses and how terrible narcissistic behaviour is.
Take a look at the mess destroying Twitter.
He can’t self reflect on how terrible he is. He’s actively wrecking the people and products around him.
This happens a (1/2)
If your boss is
- belittling the staff
- mocking those that left
- expect workers to stay late and give up their life
- ignoring advice and releasing stupid products with blindingly obvious faults
- all of (waves hand in direction of San Francisco) that

Tip for retiring Special Ops:
Ensure you clear a 50x80m area on your property.
This allows for a helicopter to land while you are chopping wood, and a guy in a beret and dress uniform to walk up and tell you they need you for a special mission after you retire.
@VinLew This sort of crime goes up during school holidays and is done by kids who aren’t in a holiday programme.
How much cheaper is it to fund a holiday programme?
Simpson Skinner meme: No, it is the children who are wrong.
The first time I used Twitter to recommend tech workers unionise was 2018-04, which was a while ago.
Time for those “worst fears” to be realised. Don’t let your boss treat you badly. Don’t let them make you work mad hours. Keep some time for yourself.
And join your union.
The reason is not whether it will work (it won't) or whether it'll stick around (it can't) but that it could stand as a signal for tech to abuse their workers and put it under "times are tough" excuses, and "that's how it works" because Daddy Emerald said it was cool.
If the product you're selling is yourself then I recommend a good agent on your side, and if available, a union.
For those in Aotearoa New Zealand the Aotearoa Tech Union has just opened its doors for membership: @yourtechunion

“Use the Cloud”, they said.
“Scale up and down effortlessly and instantly”, they said.
Dear reader, this week I have decommissioned 5 VMs that were spun up in 2019 and nobody ever touched them. Didn’t login, didn’t add them to the inventory. Nothing!
Please, twitter employee who are left, I'm begging you: now is the time to unionize.
Not only can a union protect you from an abusive, unpredictable, egomaniacal boss, but twitter unionizing right now would be extremely funny.
