@btfoshizzle Obviously a few years late to the party here but just want to say thanks for your superb work on the Steve Jones memoir. Lying in a north London hammock, frequently guffawing. Not a euphemism. Cheers!
@mariannaspring Just finished Among the Trolls. Excellent book, thank you. Best of luck with the election coverage - got your work cut out for you there - and onwards.
@neilcocker101 Oh, for God's sake. I've just finished The Devil's Chamber - loved it - and at the end it says to read Amsterdam Rampant. Did, couple of years ago, loved that too. Didn't know it was the same bloke! Good work mate. Write more, there's at least one purchase in it!
@NoContextJimmyC Memorable - no better word. What a superb character; if you ever watched an episode of Brookside you'll never forget Jimmy. Great thanks to Dean and great thanks to this account for its snippets of genius.
@TheTollington Quick question: when a group of people on match day start singing "We'll be running round Tottenham with our Willie's hanging out", what are we supposed to do about it? If we tell security, will they kick them out? Shouting at the perpetrators has no effect, sadly.
@AllertonProject@JanetHughes@Mark_Spencer Is that right about the removal of the tiered system within the original three standards? I haven't seen that anywhere else.
@tommlancaster Good blog/thread. I'm afraid it's been going this way since the Truss leadership campaign, when 'public goods' became a thing Defra just hope farmers sort out because they're proud stewards of the land. Otherwise, what the NFU wants they get, regardless of 'goods', because votes.
@dustin_benton They want to incentivise people to sign up so in a few months they can say X number of farmers have signed up, and pat themselves on the back. Actually doing any of the public goods, that's not really the point of SFI any more, and hasn't been for a while.
@arseblog Ahhh do you really want to be posting that link to the 'free' paste of the Ken Early piece? It's behind a paywall for a reason, not least that Ken himself wants paying.
