@Lunchboxhero45 Saw it first hand after a ball practice we had, threw a soccer ball out and walked away and the kids went nuts together, laughed and played hard! #letthekidsplay
How have youth sports changed in the last 20 years?? We have pushed the โcompetitiveโ narrative onto our kids at far too young of an age, before they can really handle it. We have sold our parents on the idea that โif your kid is not playing year round, or for our club team, they are going to get left behind.โ We have allowed organizations to corporatize our childrenโs ability to just GO PLAY a sport. We have allowed them feed off of our egos as parents to buy into the player/state rankings over the actual development of a child. PARENTS, stop dreaming of where your kid is going to play in college or what round they are going to get drafted in. Start dreaming about their potential as human beings to grow up to be healthy, happy, and sturdy humans whose identity is built on being loved for who they are, not what they do.
#Advent invites us to prepare ourselves for Christmas, welcoming Jesus without fear. If we open wide the doors of our life, everything takes on a new light and our family, work, suffering, health, friendship, become opportunities to discover His consoling presence.
