An Open Letter to My Representatives: On Sovereignty and Betrayal

To whom it may concern,

I am an American veteran, having served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army. I swore an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It is from this perspective that I am writing with white-hot fury.

Reports are circulating that the United States government is considering, or has agreed to, host a Qatari military base on American soil, specifically in Idaho. The justification being floated is that it is a "thank you" for their role in Middle East negotiations.

Let me be perfectly clear: If there is even a single grain of truth to this concept, it represents an unconscionable surrender of our national sovereignty.

The United States does not host the sovereign military bases of foreign nations. We are the guarantors of our own security. The presence of a Qatari flag flying over a Qatari-run air base in the heart of our nation is an image of submission, not of partnership.

The idea that we would need to lease our soil to a foreign power as a "thank you" is diplomatically bankrupt and strategically insane. Our alliances are built on mutual interest, not on real estate concessions that violate the very principle of a sovereign nation.

I demand immediate clarity and a full, public denial from the Department of Defense and the White House.

If this is a misinterpretation of a plan for increased training cooperation, then the administration must say so clearly. The ambiguity itself is damaging.

If, by some nightmare, this is being considered, then I and millions of other veterans will mobilize to stop it. We did not serve to see our country become a landlord for foreign militaries.

This is a red line. Do not cross it.

BREAKING: Donald Trump has a nuclear meltdown and threatens "problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City" after NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani boldly announces that Trump "will not dictate" the race.

Zohran has these MAGA crooks terrified...

“Donald Trump and his billionaire donors may be able to determine the actions of Eric Adams and Andrew Cuomo, but they will not dictate the results of this election,” Mamdani stated on MSNBC. “This continues to be the same election as it was when we started on October 23rd."

Over the weekend, Eric Adams dropped out of the race. The conservative, scandal-riddled Adams had little chance of winning, but had promised to stay in the race. Republicans had been urging him to suspend his campaign in the hopes that his voters would flock to disgraced alleged sex predator Andrew Cuomo, a more right-wing candidate than Mamdani. Crucially, Adams met with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff earlier this month, raising the specter of a possible secret backroom deal.

Mamdani — who defeated Cuomo and others to clinch the Democratic nomination over the summer — is standing tall in the face of all this naked corruption and conservative maneuvering.

"Donald Trump has spoken time and again about how he wants to narrow this race, how he wants to use every tool at his disposal to try and stop this campaign for affordability,” said Mamdani. “And we’re seeing amidst all of that here, yet again, the moment where he is shaping this race."

“But we’re going to show him that New Yorkers are tired of his politics and they’re tired of being priced out of the city," he added.

It seems that Trump may have seen the MSNBC segment, because earlier this morning he unleashed a rant on Truth Social smearing him—

"Self proclaimed New York City Communist, Zohran Mamdani, who is running for Mayor, will prove to be one of the best things to ever happen to our great Republican Party," wrote Trump. "He is going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City."

Despite Trump's constant insistences to the contrary, Mamdani is not a "communist." That's just the label Republicans trot out anytime a candidate suggests prioritizing the needs of real Americans over corporate profits. The primary promise of Mamdani's campaign is to make New York City livable and affordable again for working class people.

"Remember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his FAKE Communist promises," Trump continued. "He won’t be getting any of it, so what’s the point of voting for him? This ideology has failed, always, for thousands of years. It will fail again, and that’s guaranteed! President DJT"

As usual, Trump is as dishonest as he is ignorant. Mamdani is not a communist, but communism also isn't "thousands of years" old. It has existed as a political concept for less than two hundred years. It's fitting that someone who cannot properly identify communism also knows nothing about its history.

Moving beyond the display of weaponized idiocy, Trump's threat to freeze federal funding to New York City is blatant authoritarianism. He's terrified that New Yorkers will choose a candidate who represents their interests rather than the interests of corporations and billionaires, so he's trying to intimidate them into compliance. Unfortunately for Trump, his threats are likely to backfire. New Yorkers don't take kindly to being bossed around, especially by someone as deeply unpopular as him.

It also should be noted that much of Trump's antipathy towards Mamdani transcends ideology. He's deeply jealous of the Democratic candidate's youth, good looks, and generational gift for communication. Mamdani is the future, Trump is the racist past.

BREAKING: Colombian President Gustavo Petro calls for a full CRIMINAL investigation into Donald Trump during a United Nations speech, citing his illegal and murderous military strikes on ships in the Caribbean.

The world is fed up with MAGA fascism…

“Criminal proceedings must be opened against those officials, who are from the U.S., even if it includes the highest-ranking official who gave the order: President Trump,” Petro said during his speech before the U.N. General Assembly.

To date, Trump has carried out three such strikes that we know about. He alleges that the targets were narcotics smugglers working for drug cartels but has failed to provide evidence for his claims. Even if they were drug smugglers, Trump had no legal right to unilaterally murder them. They should have been arrested and tried in a court of law.

Petro said that Trump’s victims were not Tren De Aragua gang members as claimed by the White House but were “simply poor young people from Latin America who had no other option.”

“They said that the missiles in the Caribbean were used to stop drug trafficking. That is a lie stated here in this very rostrum,” said Petro.

“Was it really necessary to bomb unarmed, poor young people in the Caribbean?” he added.

A just world would hold Trump accountable for his crimes. These strikes are not designed to stop drug deaths in the United States, they’re designed to make Trump look like a militaristic strongman to his MAGA base and terrorize the people of the Global South.

BREAKING: Donald Trump has a raging meltdown for the ages after MSNBC runs truthful coverage of the devastating effects of his pointless tariffs and accuses the host of not being a "High IQ" person.

The economy is going down the drain but Trump lives in an ivory tower...

"I just watched an exhausted, highly neurotic Stephanie Ruhle spew LIES about Tariffs, as do many others, in order not to give me the Victory that they all see coming. Few people know Stephanie Ruhle, but I do, and she doesn’t have what it takes," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

"Our Deal with the United Kingdom yesterday was AMAZING for both Countries and, in addition to everything else, British Airways just ordered $10 Billion Dollars worth of new Boeing planes," he continued.

In reality, the so-called "deal" with the UK is a complete farce. Trump has already revealed that the overall 10% tariff will remain in place. It's a PR stunt gussied up as a masterstroke of negotiation because he's desperate for the illusion of a win.

Trump claims that Britain is going to increase market access for American exports, but many of the details have yet to be hammered out. Tellingly, most Americans and British citizens are unsure if Trump will even abide by the "deal."

A POLITICO-Public First poll from last month found that less than 1/3 of British citizens and only 44% of Americans believe that Trump will keep his word. His long history of backtracking, lying, and reneging on deals had made him a deeply unreliable partner.

More telling still, 25% of Trump's own voters believe that his instability constitutes the biggest stumbling block for negotiations.

"We’re going to make a fortune with Tariffs, only smart people understand that, and Stephanie was never known as a 'High IQ' person," Trump continued in his post.

Of course, just about every reputable economist agrees that the tariffs are an abject disaster. They're shrinking the economy, causing shortages, and tanking the stock market.

At the same time, the tariffs stand little chance of actually reindustrializing the United States because Trump and his Republican cronies have refused to invest in subsidies or large tax breaks to incentivize reshoring.

"MSDNC has become the Voice of the Democrat Party, and they should be treated as a Political Advocate with all of the Taxes and Penalties therefrom," Trump added. "Their Ratings are terrible, but Brian Roberts and his crew should be forced to TELL THE TRUTH. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"

This final piece of his outburst is yet another attack on the free press and the First Amendment. Trump wants us to live in a world where we are denied access to truthful information, with only his deranged propaganda polluting air. We cannot allow that to happen.
