Today at the San Ysidro port of entry in Tijuana I watched as MX and US authorities allowed 26 Ukrainian asylum seekers to enter the U.S. and turned away a Mexican family who'd been waiting alongside them, saying they couldn't seek asylum bc of Title 42 and would have to wait. 🧵

Probably close to 400 LAPD officers spread out all throughout Echo Park Lake, over 100 police cars (packed w/ 4 cops each), 3 busses, 2 helicopters, & other city departments getting ready to throw people's belongings, etc. Tax dollars spent to criminalize poverty.

I value money management bcus having a spending plan 4 every paycheck allows me 2 pay 4 my necessary expenses (rent for my dorm & other bills). I get to live close to campus but it is NOT cheap. It's definitely takes hard work, dedication, & budgeting! @CFEfund #SummerJobsConnect

A few mths ago I went 2 buy decorations 4 my dorm & my wallet was stolen
Unfortunately, I had $200+ in my wallet & it was all gone
