Im usually the funny guy who pokes fun at most things. Lately though, after snickering for a few seconds at the hilarious posts on soc med , especially Bitoy's latest impersonation of a plunderer..i mean, contractor, (i swear Bitoy is prettier) I seem to lose my humour realizing the gravity of the situation.
If you're a person who religiously pays your taxes, allow me to ruin your day a bit:
Check out your APRIL Income Tax Return Form 2316 and look at item 26 - Total Amount of Taxes Withheld. I bet its a small fortune right?
With that amount, you could have bought a brand new sedan..or paid off your home loan..
Now, look back last month and add up all your expenses.. Utility bills, Groceries, Gas, and everyrhing else you paid money for. Then multiply that amount by 12% (VAT) and again multiply it by 12 months... Its a significant amount as well right? You could have used that for your kid's tuition.
But no. That small fortune on your ITR, that big amount you paid for VAT, it all went to line the pockets of Corrupt Plunderers and insatiable pigs...intead of being used for the benefit of the working class and the general public.
No wonder we never graduated from being the "Sick Man of Asia".
Now look at those posts and memes again.
Still funny?
I thought so.

Former Supreme Court Justice Adolf Azcuna making solid points on the judicial overreach and Constitutional transgressions in the recent SC Decision penned by J. Leonen.
At this point, a lot of legal luminaries have resurfaced to respectfully provide guidance to the Court.
"Eventually you will pay the price for the way you treated people."
It may not happen today. It may not happen tomorrow. But life has a way of making sure that what you put out into the world comes back to you. The pain you caused, the lies you told, the hearts you broke, the trust you shattered—it all adds up. You might smile now, thinking you got away with it. You might be surrounded by people who believe your version of the story. But the truth has a way of surviving, even when it’s buried under manipulation and denial.
You treated people like they were disposable. You used their kindness as a weakness and took advantage of their love. You played the victim when you were the villain, and you left behind a trail of broken souls who only wanted to love and support you. But one thing about this life—it doesn’t let injustice live forever. One day, when you find yourself needing the very things you destroyed in others—honesty, loyalty, compassion—you’ll feel the weight of every cruel word, every cold shoulder, every silent betrayal.
Karma doesn’t need an audience. It works silently, patiently. And when it arrives, it doesn’t just touch the surface—it goes straight to the core. You’ll remember every name, every face, every tear. And that’s when you’ll realize: hurting people never makes you strong, and stepping on others never gets you far. Because eventually, everything you gave—good or bad—comes right back to you.
