It was my pleasure today to visit Benadir University (BU), one of the most successful universities in Somalia and Africa. I have great appreciation for Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mohamud Hassan (Biday), Rector of the University and Chairman of the Association of Somali Universities, and H.E. Senior/Prof/Dr. Osman Mohamud Dufle, Senator of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, for their warm welcome and fruitful discussions. We agreed on the importance of ensuring food sovereignty for Somalia. During my visit, I toured the university campus, explored various faculties, and had the opportunity to speak with students at the Prof. Addow main hall. I am pleased that we have committed to further improving and sustaining the leadership and development pioneered by BU.
