The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island seems an appropriate spot for the last round and the last post of my year. It’s the first “great” course I ever played, and a place I love spending December afternoons - even when it’s chilly and windy.
Thank you to all of you for your support in 2023. Some highlights:
1. We sold out the 2024 LinksGems calendar again, and your support for my new book has been remarkable. As a result of that support, we’ve been able to donate tens of thousands of dollars to animal rescue and other charities.
2. The Golf Courses of Seth Raynor, my new book with Michael Wolf and Jim Sitar, has been very well received. I can’t thank all of you enough for your support my first non-club-specific book - there’s more to come, that I think you’ll like.
3. A few days ago, I hit 100,000 followers on Instagram. I certainly never expected a milestone like that. And best of all, the growth is entirely organic - I’ve never paid or traded for followers. Thanks to you all, we’ve built what I think is a great little community for sharing golf photography and talking about golf course architecture, and I’m very proud of that.
4. Lastly, I was able to meet and play with so many of you over the course of 2023, and I’ll cherish the friendships made over the last year. I hope to be able to meet even more of you in the coming year - I know Gracie is looking forward to it.
So as we enter 2024, I wanted to wish all of you the happiest of new years and the best of health and happiness for you and your families, and hope that you have a wonderful golf year.
Thanks,
Jon Cavalier
It was an Amelia Bencko quarter there in the second! She had eight points in the quarter and leads all scorers at the half with 11 points!

Some more information on the TGL format.
Each night will have one match. For example - Atlanta vs Boston.
The matches are broken down into two sessions.
• Session 1 - 9 holes
• Session 2 - 6 holes
Session 1:
Will be a three vs three alternate shot.
Session 2:
Will be singles - one vs one. Each player will play two holes during session 2.
The indoor area is about the size of a football field.
• Tee shots hit off real grass
• Approach shots hit off real grass
• Fairway bunker shots hit off real sand
The short game and putting area is the size of four basketball courts. And the green is 3,800 square feet.
The green will simulate the actual hole - and has the ability to change slope.
The screen is absolutely enormous too. It is 64 feet by 46 feet - 20 times the size of a normal simulator.
Today marks 222 days until the return of the U.S. Open to Pinehurst No. 2.
