@alexbloodfire@afneil So is Israeli government policy towards the Palestinians. It’s been murderous for decades.
They’ll drop a bomb on a building in a city. Watch!
Before you tell me it’s targeted, let me point out how poor their “intelligence “ service really is. They didn’t even see this coming.
@superwomble@HelenLe46286225@peterpayne@afneil So let’s see you take Hamas on and ask for your right to be ruled by a decent policy to be respected.
Moderate Palestinians are up against perhaps the most extreme brutalised militants in the world. On both sides.
@superwomble@HiFi_2022@LtDrebin1@peterpayne@afneil Look up Sabra and Shatila. Go on.
Palestinians have seen their homes and land stolen, forced to leave their country, and been murdered and oppressed for decades without a chance of revenge. Facing a military machine.
Israel is like what you see the EU, but x100 in their eyes.
@superwomble@HiFi_2022@LtDrebin1@peterpayne@afneil It’s not about what justifies. It’s what causes.
You feel angry and aggrieved to have lived under “the yoke of Brussels”!
Imagine life in Gaza, or destitute in a camp, your home and land occupied for 75 years.
@Hypersane23@peterpayne@afneil I think you’re wrong, and I’m not a Hamas supporter. The Viet Cong were thoroughly defeated in the Tet offensive. But it won them the war. Hamas is hoping for a global uprising against the west and I think they could get it.
@GratefulBiker01 @afneil@BBCNews BBC etc walk an impossible tightrope. The Israelis have put the entire population of Gaza into a prison for years, and committed many equally cowardly atrocities. Drop a bomb from 5000 feet on a building in a city? It’s terrorism. We’ve just seen how shit their “intelligence” is.
@Stix_n_stones22@afneil Show some pictures of Palestinian kids shot by IDF or buried under bombed buildings too then. These massacred civilians paid taxes that produced terror too.
@superwomble@peterpayne@afneil Sure that was easy for moderate Palestinians, eh. Especially when the Israeli government has been so helpful, stopping the illegal occupation and “settlement” of Arab land… /s
@IDF@jconricus I heard a story about a little weak guy called David and a huge soldier called Goliath. In the original David was Jewish. But in the modern version, he’s Palestinian and Goliath is the Israeli army, sorry incompetent “defence force”
@IDF@jconricus I will be surprised if there is not a general global uprising against the capitalist elites stemming from this. The excluded everywhere who are on the wrong side of the walls and borders. But who are also humans who want a chance not to live in squalor like Gaza.
@IDF@jconricus At least Netanyahu didn’t call it a “special military operation”. But you will not find your army can free hostages as easily as their captors can murder them. No doubt your air force has already buried some under buildings. Along with other women, children and non-combatants.
@IDF@jconricus Sir, some of us do remember Sabra and Shatila. Maybe not many western Christians do. But all the Arabs do. They also remember the Balfour declaration, UN resolutions, the beatings and killings of Palestinians by the Israeli Army. Sorry “defence force”.
@IDF@jconricus Asymmetric warfare worked for you for years, colonel. But now you’ll see the limits of military might. The US aircraft carrier isn’t a symbol of power, it’s a symbol of total impotence.
@IDF@jconricus This is not just like 9/11 and Pearl Harbour - catastrophic intelligence failures. It’s also like the Tet offensive. Hamas won already, they landed a blow on Israel and will be seen as heroes. I think we will see uprisings in Saudi, Jordan, Qatar etc against corrupt regimes
@IDF@jconricus What a simplistic, one sided analysis. As if this happened out of nothing. Yes, this attack is a savage and ruthless murder spree. But it is NOT unprovoked. You are reaping what you sowed.
