Legendary Oklahoma coaches Kenny Bare and Rocky Clarke share a massive legacy built on hundreds of victories and multiple State Championships.

While I have known Coach Clarke for years—and often heard his perspective on leaving Velma-Alma to coach the Washington girls' basketball team—half of the history was missing. I never knew the full story, or how Coach Bare stepped into the Velma-Alma vacancy to promptly win back-to-back State Championships in his first two seasons as a girls basketball coach.

Following Coach Bare’s recent induction into the Oklahoma Coaches Association Hall of Fame, we finally brought these two icons together to swap memories, fill in the blanks, and look back at that incredible era.
