The recent, failed effort by the student senate at The New School to boycott Hillel - the world's largest and most inclusive Jewish student organization - is both blatant antisemitism and a shameful attempt to intimidate Jewish students and erase Jewish life on campus.
No college or university has ever considered cutting ties with Hillel. To the contrary, university leaders across the country have consistently affirmed Hillel's critical role in supporting Jewish students and adding value to the overall campus community, as reflected in the swift denunciation by The New School administration of their student senate's unauthorized and discriminatory action.
Jewish life on campus through Hillel is not up for debate. We will continue to ensure every student has a place where they can belong and fully express their Jewish identities.
@HillelIntl
Demonizing Hillel with false charges rooted in age-old antisemitic tropes is deeply offensive and a complete misrepresentation of Hillel’s work. At a time when The New School student government should be looking for ways to create more welcoming and inclusive environments, their actions instead serve to punish and exclude Jewish students.
We appreciate The New School administration’s strong rejection of the student senate's actions and their full support of Hillel, as well as the many others who have recognized the outrageousness of the student government's discriminatory actions.

Really wonderful to be in Ann Arbor to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Michigan Hillel. As I shared during the event, Michigan needs a strong, visible and vibrant Michigan Hillel now more than ever. No attacks, however brazen and outrageous, will keep the Jews at @UMich and across the state from proudly and joyfully standing up for one another
@Michiganhillel recently turned 100! To mark the milestone, they held a multi-day celebration, including a Mega Shabbat Dinner — one of the largest in Michigan Hillel history! 👏🎉

Grateful for our partnership with @ADL bringing so many @HillelIntl student leaders from across the country and around the world to #NeverIsNow for a very meaningful two days, as part of our Hillel Leadership Passport program.
Students had the chance to learn from my friend and @ADL's fearless leader @jgreenblattadl, philanthropic leaders including @RobertKrafts & @DM_Rubenstein sports and entertainment leaders @JessicaBerman1@EmmanuelAcho and Gloria Gaynor, and the 4,000 other religious, business and community leaders who turned out to stand up against antisemitic hate and stand up for a safe, proud and joyful Jewish future.
With these students leading us into the future, we can be confident that better days are ahead!
Campus is where identity takes root. But when that environment becomes hostile, building community becomes both harder and more essential. To the Student Leadership Passport participants standing with us today: your courage gives me hope about our future as a Jewish community.
Proud to have my friend @AdamL, CEO of @HillelIntl here at #NeverIsNow to discuss how we're ensuring the next generation can lead as their full, Jewish selves.
