Screenwriter for Laika (The Boxtrolls, 3 other development projects), WB, Dreamworks, Fox, Disney, Paramount, Legendary, Sony, etc. Got my start on Clone High!
I was lucky to see an early screening of Project Hail Mary yesterday. What a beautiful, funny, exhilarating adaptation. Simultaneously huge and intimate, a buddy movie about the power of connection. Congrats @philiplord@chrizmillr@adityasood and whole team on making a classic.
@adityasood@philiplord I can still hear him: "Pizza! Pizza? Piz-ZA! PEE-za... I can keep going if you tell me what you want..." (Cut to Phil giggling and telling him to just keep going). We had video tape of it somewhere in Phil's storage.
RIP Joe Flaherty, comedy god. That day in the studio recording him is still one of the funniest, weirdest things I've ever witnessed. Here's what I wrote about it back then:
This is so sad. Mark and I developed a movie together at Laika. So talented, so clever, so dry, so passionate, always pushing for every moment to be more surprising. He leaves a legacy of brilliant stop-motion, from Fantastic Mr Fox, to the California Raisins, to Pinocchio.
@zombietardis Insane. I wrote a pitch for this over ten years ago, in 2012. It was always a great idea for a movie. WB is a mess. I'll alway root for them to right the ship, I hope Bill can do it.
This feels like an @adityasood move if I ever saw one. And a good fit for @philiplord and @chrizmillr because it’s so got many characters and worlds it’s practically un-filmable. Aka their specialty.
