@GinaWoodwrd I'm a learner on this question, but at the school level teaching job interview, resume, public speaking, budgets, etc. skills isn't a bad place to start. My secondary friends will have to fill me in on what course those fall under, but some of those skills cross content #INedchat
@GinaWoodwrd School culture needs to be inclusive, allowing marginalized students to feel safe, supported, that they have a voice. Sets up school and students for success in academics/achievement #INedchat
Well done to everyone involved at MSD Lawrence Township Schools and community in putting together a fantastic outdoor Dia de los Muertos event! Great performances, ofrendas, food, and turnout @ltgoodnews@erika_tran10
@NicoleNLeach One opportunity could be to highlight their bilingualism as an asset, We award the Certificate of Multilingual Proficiency for those students who can demonstrate their multilingualism. @NicoleNLeach is our CoMP expert! #INedchat More info here: https://t.co/puTn4iT9Ue
@FrankChikiIN It's great to have Ss using academic language in different contexts, letting language domains build on one another. Speak and listen with a partern/small group, followed by writing, followed by partner speaking, etc. Building of ideas! #INedchat
@loriannkatz Frayer models are great vocab tools and Ss can build great journals with them; for ELs I always liked to add a native language description/definition in one of the squares (when appropriate) #INedchat
@dr_cflores Connections to terminology is so important; without visuals, representations, examples, use in different ways, academic terms can remain abstract #INedchat
