@BillAckman Or the governments could just do the drug discovery themselves, the way they do for basic science. We don’t need drug companies, and if they all evaporated tomorrow we could do everything they do for much less.
@PhRMA These pharma companies only exist b/c the government gives them patents, approves their products, then hands them Medicare money. Then they have the gall to say the government should stay out of their business.
@brian_goldstone Insurance companies are greedy. But what about the doctors? In this case, doctors have the power to help a patient in need, but won’t operate unless they’re guaranteed payment by Cigna. Isn’t this a violation of the Hippocratic Oath?
@FischerKing64 We “insist” when there is no other choice. We are vehicles and have every right to be in the lane. Yesterday I got yelled at by a woman for riding on the sidewalk instead of a road that had no bike lanes. So which is it? Road or sidewalk?
@NYC_DOT@ob_cycler@NYPDTransport There are 7 cyclists/pedestrians and 1 car, but all of the infrastructure (crosswalks, traffic lights, bike lanes) is designed around the danger the car poses to everyone else. Make more spaces car-free so people can move around without fear.
@MIOHSP How about enforcing traffic laws, lowering speed limits, improving lighting, widening crosswalks? Maybe try those first before you tell us to walk around in day-glo.
@hjluks The data on lorecivivint mentioned in the article was fabricated. I worked for the company, I know. That’s why their phase 3 trials failed, because too many other people also knew.
@alanthefisher@ob_cycler In California there’s no way to get to Sequoias, Joshua Tree, Death Valley and other parks by transit. So instead they get packed with cars. It’s awful.
