Just look at Kenny’s face when Dolly’s voice first floats…He doesn’t just hear her. The smile starts before he even turns. It’s the face of a man who just found his favorite person in a crowded room. His friend. This is 1985. “We’ve Got Tonight.” Kenny is already mid-song when Dolly walks and takes the line that belongs to both of them: “Why don’t you stay… deep in my soul.”
