One of the saddest breast cancer cases I've ever encountered was a 29-year-old woman.
She found a lump in her breast and went to a teaching hospital.
Diagnosis: Advanced breast cancer. At least Stage IIIA.
She was advised to start chemotherapy immediately to shrink the tumour before surgery.
She was told time was of the essence.
She went home to tell her family dur to fear and a need for financial support.
Her mother suddenly remembered another young woman, about the same age, who had "a lump" removed at a private hospital.
No mastectomy.
No chemotherapy.
She was fine.
What her mother didn't realise was that not every breast lump is the same.
Her friend's lump was benign.
Her daughter's own was cancer.
So they sought another option.
The lump was removed, but the wound never healed and unfortunately, no histology was done and no further treatment guven
Then someone suggested a traditional healer in a nearby settlement.
They went.
Eight months passed.
By the time she returned to the hospital, she was septic, anaemic, severely malnourished, and the cancer had progressed beyond what it was before.
She died within a week.
The heartbreaking part?
In that same year, she could have completed her treatment.
Fear is powerful, and when you're desperate, the promise of an easier path can be incredibly tempting.
But delayed or inappropriate treatment steals something medicine can never give back.
Time.
If you're ever diagnosed with anything and you're unsure about the recommended treatment, please seek a second opinion from another qualified specialist.
Ask questions.
Understand your options.
But don't disappear.
Don't lose months chasing an easier answer.
Sometimes, time is the treatment.

You belong in cyber. 💚
Harmful ideas rarely appear extreme immediately.
They are repeated, normalised, and eventually start sounding familiar.
Have you noticed harmful narratives becoming more normal online recently?

It’s no longer news that Nigeria ranks among the world’s top holders of stablecoins. This reflects not just the pace of adoption, but something deeper.
In a country where the local currency routinely loses 20–40% of its value every year, stablecoins aren’t just viewed as a crypto product but they’ve become a practical savings account. A dollar-denominated store of value that doesn’t require a US bank account.
Yet there’s a critical gap the data doesn’t reveal: most of these stablecoin holders can’t actually spend their USDT/USDC. There’s almost no merchant acceptance, no subscription billing, no automatic payments, and no easy way to pay suppliers.
